Shannon Evans, Buffalo’s second-leading scorer, will reunite with head coach Bobby Hurley, as it was reported he will transfer to Arizona State.
Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports first reported the news on Friday afternoon.
Evans, a second-team All-MAC selection, averaged 15.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game as a sophomore, helping the Bulls reach the NCAA tournament. He will have to sit out the 2015-16 season and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Hurley was 42-20 (25-11 MAC) in two seasons with the Bulls. He accepted the Arizona State job on April 9. On Monday, Evans announced he would transfer, setting up a visit at Arizona State later that week.
