With J.J. Avila and Stanton Kidd among the players whose eligibility expired at the end of this season, Colorado State could use another body for its front court going into the 2015-16 season. Head coach Larry Eustachy landed an important commitment this weekend, as 6-foot-7 forward Kimani Jackson made his pledge according to Brad Winton of JucoRecruiting.com.

Jackson, who averaged 8.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in 19 minutes of action per game last season at New Mexico Junior College, will have three years of eligibility at Colorado State. He’s the fifth 2015 commitment in the class for the Rams, joining fellow junior college product Emmanuel Ombogo and incoming freshmen Prentiss Nixon, Anthony Bonner and Nico Carvacho.

With the loss of Avila and Kidd, rising senior Tiel Daniels will be Colorado State’s most experienced interior option next season. Jackson, who verbally committed to Colorado State while making a visit to the Mountain West school, also held offers from Tennessee, Old Dominion and James Madison.
