With three players, led by forward Oumar Barry, having signed with the program during the early signing period in November, DePaul added a fourth player to its 2015 recruiting class Wednesday afternoon.

6-foot-6 shooting guard Eli Cain, formerly a Delaware commit, announced via Twitter that he’s decided to join the Big East program.

“Thanks to everyone that supported me through my recruiting process,” Cain said via Twitter. “For my college career I will be attending DePaul University.”

Two months after committing to Delaware Cain, who attends St. Benedict’s Prep in New Jersey, reopened his recruitment with the contract status of head coach Monte Ross impacting that decision. Cain played for the Playaz Basketball Club at the grassroots level, with one of his teammates being Kentucky signee Isaiah Briscoe.

He’s a versatile player who can make plays off the bounce and hit perimeter shots. While DePaul loses senior Jamee Crockett at the end of this season, players such as Myke Henry and Darrick Wood have eligibility remaining when it comes to the wing position.

Cain, who visited DePaul in early March, joins Barry, Raymond Doby and Develle Phillips in the Blue Demons’ 2015 recruiting class.
