Loyola Marymount loses leading scorer to transfer

With the season starting to come to a close for so many teams around the country, the transfer market is starting to heat up, and it didn’t take long for a high priority target to become available.

Evan Payne announced on Instagram on Monday night that he will be transferring out of Loyola Marymount.

“I have come to my decision to end my time here at LMU,” Payne wrote. “I’m just on an intense mission to achieve goals that some would believe to be impossible for me to reach.”

A 6-foot-1 sophomore point guard, Payne averaged 18.0 points as a sophomore, but by the end of the season he had been suspended for a violation of team rules and relegated to a role coming off the bench.
