Cincinnati head coach Mick Cronin has been away from the Bearcats since Dec. 20 as he deals with an arterial dissection. While Cronin has given the Cincinnati head coaching responsibilities to associate head coach Larry Davis for the rest of the 2014-15 season, he’s remained in an advisory role with the team.

On Sunday, Cronin returned in front of the home crowd for the first time since taking his leave of absence to help in Senior Day festivities and received a standing ovation from the Bearcat faithful.

With continued progress, Cronin will hopefully return to coaching Cincinnati next season, but it is nice to see him make an appearance to help honor Bearcat senior Jermaine Sanders.

Since Cronin left, Cincinnati has gone 14-7 under Davis and is fighting for a NCAA Tournament berth. The Bearcats enter Sunday’s game against Memphis at 21-9 and 12-5 in the American on the season.
