Memphis big man Austin Nichols reinjured his right ankle on Saturday night, and it appears that it will now keep him out for the rest of the season.

Nichols suffered a high-ankle sprain and a bone bruise, according to a report from 92.9 FM in Memphis.

There was no structural damage, the report says, but the injury is bad enough that it will likely keep Nichols out for the final week of the season as well as next week’s American tournament.

The injury just about puts a nail in the coffin of a disappointing 2014-2015 campaign for the Tigers, who entered the season as contenders for the American title but struggled with perimeter play for much of the season. Nichols was the bright spot this season for the Tigers, averaging 13.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks.
