Following Monday’s game against Clemson, it was announced by Georgia Tech head coach Brian Gregory that Chris Bolden was suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. Thursday evening the school announced that the junior will have to sit out six games before returning to the court.

With Monday’s game being considered the first game of that suspension, Bolden won’t be able to return until the Yellow Jackets’ second game in the ACC tournament (provided they win their opener, of course).

“He has been suspended for not adhering to the standards of our program,” Gregory said following Georgia Tech’s win over Clemson. “We have high expectations for our student-athletes, and he has not met those expectations. At this time, it’s an indefinite suspension.

“That’s the only comment I am going to make on it, and we will probably make a comment on it later on.”

Without Bolden, who’s averaging 6.9 points per game on the season, Marcus Georges-Hunt played 34 minutes and fellow perimeter starters Tadric Jackson and Travis Jorgenson played 29 and 20, respectively. Josh Heath played 22 minutes off the bench, scoring 14 points and dishing out three assists, with Corey Heyward playing seven minutes.

Georgia Tech visits No. 15 North Carolina Saturday afternoon.
