Saint Louis didn’t have a lot of experience returning this season and that has been made more difficult by a shoulder injury to senior forward Grandy Glaze.

The 6-foot-6 Glaze was a role player the last few seasons, but with six incoming freshmen added to the roster for 2014-15, the Billikens needed Glaze’s experience to help with the young guys. Unfortunately, Glaze has been out with a separated shoulder since October and the senior took to Twitter earlier this week to announce that he had surgery on the injured shoulder on Jan. 5.

Glaze hasn’t played yet this season and an AP story from R.B. Fallstrom on Friday said that Glaze is likely done for the season. Saint Louis hasn’t announced anything official regarding Glaze’s status this season.

Although Glaze averaged just 12.6 minutes a game as a junior, but churned out 3.8 points and 4.5 boards in that time and was very productive for Saint Louis. It’s hard to say if Glaze will try to come back next season with a medical redshirt for the Billikens, but with the senior having surgery this week, it appears unlikely that he’ll suit up this season.

This isn’t a major loss for Saint Louis, considering Glaze hasn’t played this season, but they could still use Glaze and his toughness and rebounding next season if he opts to return.
