Memphis head coach Josh Pastner announced at his Tuesday afternoon press conference that the Tigers have suspended sophomore forward Kuran Iverson for two games.

The 6-foot-9 native of Connecticut is being suspended for a violation of team rules and will miss Memphis’ AAC road trip to SMU and Houston. Iverson missed the first five games of the 2014-15 season after suffering a concussion and he’s averaging 4.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game in 11.8 minutes of action per contest.

The forward is shooting 50 percent from the field on the season and has been a minimal factor in the Tigers’ two AAC games so far. Iverson only has five points and two rebounds in 20 minutes of action in AAC play against Houston and Tulane as Memphis split the pair of home games.

Still, the Tigers could use the reserve forward against SMU to face talented big men like Markus Kennedy and Yanick Moreira.
