With guards Ty Jerome and Kyle Guy having already made verbal commitments to join Tony Bennett’s program in 2016, Virginia has turned its attention to adding some size to their 2016 recruiting haul. Thursday afternoon the Cavaliers received a verbal commitment from 6-foot-10 three-star power forward Sacha Killeya-Jones, making him the third commit in the class so far.

Killeya-Jones, who held offers from a number of programs including Georgetown, Saint Joseph’s, VCU, Notre Dame and Wake Forest, announced his decision via his Twitter account on Thursday.

“Proud to be starting 2015 as an official Virginia Basketball commit! Thanks to all who have recruited me and those who helped me get here,” Killeya-Jones stated.

Killeya-Jones attends Virginia Episcopal School, and he played his grassroots basketball for the Team Felton program this past spring/summer. With multiple front court contributors, including Justin Anderson, Anthony Gill and Mike Tobey, all being juniors this season adding depth to those positions will be key for Virginia on the recruiting trail.

Killeya-Jones, a skilled forward viewed by analysts as having considerable upside as he matures physically, is expected to help the Cavaliers in this regard and there’s room for another big man in the 2016 class as well.
