After spending time in the hospital, Hall of Famer Jerry Tarkanian is heading home from a Las Vegas hospital after being treated for pneumonia.
According to the AP, the 84-year-old Tarkanian is scheduled for release on Monday afternoon from Valley Hospital Medical Center. Medical tests from the hospital confirmed that Tarkanian had pneumonia, but he was cleared of other ailments.
The former Long Beach State, UNLV and Fresno State head coach had been in the hospital since last Wednesday with respiratory distress.
It’s certainly good news to hear that Tarkanian is feeling better. After a legendary career that included a 784-202 career record, he’s a coaching icon and one of college basketball’s most colorful characters on the sidelines. Hopefully he gets healthy enough to catch some games this season.
