Auburn commit Trayvon Reed will have his trial postponed until Dec. 19, his attorney, David Putzi told Don Markus of the Baltimore Sun.

The 7-foot-1 Reed was dismissed from the Maryland basketball team after being charged with theft under $100 and second-degree assault in late July. Reed was arrested outside of a 7-Eleven in College Park on July 30 when he allegedly got into an altercation with an undercover police officer.

The officer said he saw Reed take three items from the store worth less than $6 and leave without paying. More details on the arrest and Reed’s pending charges can be found here.

Reed eventually ended up committing to Auburn and will transfer into the program after first semester, when he hopes to be qualified and ready to go.
