Antwan Scott will have a chance to be Colorado State’s starting point guard this season during his senior year.
The Grambling transfer averaged 15.7 points, 4.8 boards and 3.7 assists per game as a junior and now has some talent around him as the Rams could be a sleeper in the Mountain West this season.
But for Scott to reach his current status, he’s had to deal with a lot of family obstacles, including the death of his mother, who was also once addicted to drugs.
Matt L. Stephens of The Coloradoan profiled Scott’s journey today and it’s an excellent piece that is worth your time. Scott goes over his personal struggles, his family involvement -- including the support of his father, who rarely misses a game -- and the reasons he picked Colorado State over an attractive SEC program like Tennessee.
