UTEP landed a big man with some upside on Monday night as Illinois native and 6-foot-9 big man Christian Romine committed to head coach Tim Floyd.

A three-star prospect, according to Rivals, Romine goes to Mahomet Seymour High School and played his grassroots ball with the Illinois Stars.
Romine, who is bouncy and has a decent perimeter jumper, also had scholarship offers from Ball State, Bradley, DePaul, Florida International, Illinois State, Indiana State, St. Francis (Pa.), Tulane and Western Kentucky.
UTEP had Romine on campus for an official visit this past weekend and was able to end his recruitment early.
