N.C. State incoming freshman forward Caleb Martin underwent foot surgery this weekend, the school announced on Sunday afternoon.

The 6-foot-6 Martin suffered a fracture in the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, an injury that happened before he arrived on campus in Raleigh. Martin is expected to be out 8-12 weeks.

Martin, the four-star recruit, ranked No. 60 overall in the Class of 2014, according to Rivals, is part of a three-man freshmen class for the Wolfpack. The former Oak Hill Academy (Virginia) forward committed to N.C. State along with his twin brother, Cody, a fellow four-star prospect. Abu-Malik Abu, the 6-foot-8 from Boston, is the highest-rated of the trio.

N.C. State has made three consecutive NCAA tournaments, ending the 2013-2014 campaign with a loss to Saint Louis in the Round of 64. The Wolfpack finished with a 22-14 (9-9 ACC) record, good for eighth in the conference standings.
