Report: South Florida center Jordan Omogbehin to transfer

jordan omogbehin

South Florida continued its offseason of tremendous turnover this week when rising redshirt junior center Jordan Omogbehin opted to transfer out of the program. The news of Omogbehin’s transfer was first reported by Corey Bender of USFNation.com.

The 7-foot-3 Omogbehin played sparingly at South Florida as he appeared in nine games last season and tallied 24 total minutes and scoring three points and grabbing seven rebounds. In his first season as a Bull, Omogbehin played in 24 games and had 16 points and 27 rebounds.

Omogbehin becomes the sixth scholarship player to leave South Florida since former head coach Stan Heath lost his job midway through March and new head coach Orlando Antigua will have a roster of many new pieces to work with in his first season.

A native of Nigeria, Omogbehin will have two seasons of eligibility remaining and shouldn’t be seen as a major loss for South Florida, since he was a project big man that barely saw important minutes.

Omogbehin’s size could benefit a team at a lower level that needed his massive size on the interior.
