Roddy Peters is headed to Tampa, as the former Maryland guard committed to new South Florida head coach Orlando Antigua on Wednesday morning, according to a report from CBSSports.com.

Peters was a top 50 recruit coming out of high school, but he averaged just 4.1 points and 2.1 assists as a freshman with the Terps as he struggled to break into Mark Turgeon’s rotation. Peters transferred out of the program at the same time as Shaquille Cleare and Roddy Peters.

Peters will have to sit out the 2014-2015 season as a transfer, but he will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in the 2015-2016 season.

That’s the same time as Marshall transfer Kareem Canty will get eligible. Canty averaged 16.3 points and 5.5 assists for the Thundering Herd last season, so while Antigua’s team will struggle a bit in his first year, the future for the Bulls is looking bright.
