With a solid four-player 2014 recruiting class months away from arriving on campus, Vanderbilt has landed its first verbal commitment in the 2015 class. Sunday evening 2015 shooting guard Camron Justice announced his decision to verbally commit to Kevin Stallings’ program via his Twitter account.

Justice, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Hindman, Kentucky, led Knott County Central HS to a 25-7 record and a spot in the Whitaker Bank/KHSAA Sweet 16. Justice averaged 24.8 points per game this season, with the Lexington Herald-Leader making him a first team All-State selection.

Justice’s shooting percentages according to the Courier-Journal: 54% from the field, 41% from three and 88% from the foul line. Justice is the school’s all-time leading scorer, as he’s scored 2,785 points with one season left to play.

Justice was originally a Tennessee commit before de-committing in early February, and in a story written by Steve Jones of the Louisville Courier-Journal one of the schools receiving consideration at the time was Vanderbilt.

Raymond Justice said he knows his son is highly interested in Vanderbilt, which plays a style conducive to Justice’s strengths, and he also mentioned Butler as a team of interest. Butler has not made an offer but was close to doing so before Justice committed to UT.

“He really likes Vandy. He really liked Butler. We’ll just have to wait and see,” his dad said. “He might go right back to Tennessee.”

Vanderbilt’s made some solid additions to its program in recent weeks, with Cornell transfer Nolan Cressler being a quality option at the shooting guard position when 2015 rolls around. Vanderbilt will have just one senior at the position next season in Dai-Jon Parker, with signees Wade Baldwin IV and Matthew Fisher-Davis also on board.

Add in Cressler and Justice, along with signee Riley LaChance, and perimeter depth is unlikely to be an issue for Vanderbilt in 2015.
