One player who will have the opportunity to contribute at Iowa State in 2014-15 is forward Abdel Nader, who was forced to sit out the 2013-14 season after transferring in from Northern Illinois. As a sophomore Nader averaged 13.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, and along with returnees Georges Niang and Dustin Hogue will be asked to help account for the graduation of Melvin Ejim.

Unfortunately for Nader and the Cyclones he’s been suspended from the team indefinitely after being cited on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated Saturday night, according to the Des Moines Register.

“Coach (Fred) Hoiberg is aware of the situation,” Matt Shoultz of the athletic department media relations department wrote in an email Sunday morning.

“Per our student-athlete conduct policy he is suspended indefinitely.”

In addition to Hogue, Niang and Nader in the front court the Cyclones return Daniel Edozie, who moved into the starting lineup for Iowa State’s games against North Carolina and UConn with Niang sidelined with a broken foot.
