Andrew Wiggins made it official on Monday.

The most hyped freshman in the most hyped recruiting class in recent memory announced that he will declare for the 2014 NBA Draft.

“At end of the day, I decided I will enter the draft. It wasn’t an easy decision,” Wiggins said at a news conference on Monday afternoon. “I wish I had more time, time goes so fast. I wish I had all four years.”

This decision was not the least bit surprising. Wiggins is a lock to go top three in the NBA Draft, and many have him projected as the No. 1 pick.

“The time is right for Andrew,” KU coach Bill Self said. “Opportunity is knocking on the door.”

“He was so coachable, a great teammate [but] as good as he was for us, he’s only scratching the surface of what he can do.”

The question for Kansas fans now becomes Joel Embiid. Will he declare for the draft as well? There were reports that Embiid had made his decision last week, but he formally denied the reports within hours.
