John Brown University holds annual Toilet Paper Game (VIDEO)

JBU

Max Hopfgartner didn’t just give John Brown University, an NAIA school in Siloam Springs, Ark., a 3-0 lead early in the home opener against Crowley’s Ridge College on Saturday night. He also gave the Golden Eagles a technical foul.

After the first bucket, during the home opener each season, the JBU fans throw rolls of toilet paper on to the floor. For the 2,300 fans inside the Bill George Arena this has been a yearly tradition for 33 years. In 2011, Jeff Eisenberg, of Yahoo Sports The Dagger, wrote about the odd tradition that results in two free throws for the Golden Eagles opponent every time.

John Brown University won the game 82-67 and improved to 2-0 on the season. More importantly, the Golden Eagles are now an impressive 32-1 in Toilet Paper games.

The NAIA has some awesome college basketball traditions, such as Taylor University’s Silent Night.
