On September 3rd, Bulter’s mascot Blue II passed away at the age of nine. For those not just affiliated with the Butler program and school, but many college basketball fans alike, this was a sad moment. The jovial and playful dog was a fixture for the basketball program, and with the team during their Final Four runs.
In yesterdays’ home football game against Dartmouth, two bones were placed on the Butler football helmets to honor Blue II. Below is a picture of the helmet from the “butlerblue3” Instagram account:
Late Night in the Phog is typically a night to remember for Kansas fans. For Kansas student Jerrod Martin Castro, Friday night’s event is one he won’t forget.
Castro, a sophomore, was selected as a contestant for a $10,000 giveaway. The only thing standing in the way of a big payday was a half-court shot. Brennan Bechard, the Kansas director of basketball operations, attempted the long-distance shot and hit nothing but net.
