Report: Oliver Antigua will join Seton Hall coaching staff

Oliver Antigua
Seton Hall has added to its coaching staff with Manhattan assistant coach and former St. Raymond High School (N.Y.) head coach Oliver Antigua. The deal will be come official on September 1, according to CBS Sports Network Insider Jon Rothstein.

Oliver Antigua is a done deal to join Kevin Willard’s staff at Seton Hall, per multiple sources. Official start date is 9/1.

Antigua’s twin brother, Orlando, is an assistant coach under John Calipari at the University of Kentucky.

It had been speculated that Antigua would be hired to fill the vacancy on Kevin Williard’s staff following last week’s events. Angelo Delgado, a four-star power forward from Huntington Prep (W.Va.) committed to Seton Hall on Aug. 16. Antigua has connections to Delgado due to their previous experiences with the Dominican Republic national team.

This is another score for Willard’s coaching staff. In April, Fred Hill -- the former Rutgers coach and most recently Northwestern assistant -- was hired by the Pirates. He helped recruit 2013 point guard Jaren Sina to Northwestern, and once Sina decommitted when Bill Carmody was let go, helped him land at Seton Hall.

Seton Hall has Hill with strong New Jersey connections, and now Antigua, who coached for more than a decade in the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) in New York.
