Oregon State’s Eric Moreland, Devon Collier suspended indefinitely

Oregon State forwards Devon Collier and Eric Moreland were suspended indefinitely by head coach Craig Robinson on Tuesday afternoon, the school announced.

The punishment stems from a violation of team rules.

“They will be allowed to participate with the team in summer workouts and strength/conditioning activities while attending summer school classes,” the school said in a release, only adding, “Oregon State officials will have no further comment at this time.”

Collier and Moreland are both key pieces for a Beaver team that lost Joe Burton to graduation and Ahmad Brooks to transfer this offseason. Collier averaged 12.6 points and 6.0 boards while Moreland chipped in with 9.4 points, 10.6 boards and 2.5 blocks.

The interesting thing, however, is that the two players will be allowed to participate with the team in workouts this summer. So what, exactly, is their suspension? Will they be miss games during the season? Generally speaking, most offseason suspension involve getting banned from team activities until you’ve earned a right to be back on the team.
