Robert Hubbs, Jordan Mickey lead Team USA over Team New York, 87-86, in Big Strick Classic

Robert Hubbs

The Big Strick Classic, newly renamed after being known previously as the Franchise Classic, took place Saturday night with two rosters loaded with high-major talent from the classes of 2013 and 2014.

Robert Hubbs of Dyer County HS (Tenn.) reportedly took home game MVP honors after scoring 18 points, grabbing six rebounds, and dishing out three assists in Team USA’s 87-86 win over Team New York.

It was Jordan Mickey of Grace Prep who had a game-saving block to seal the win in the final seconds for Team USA.

The rosters featured stars that included Aaron and Andrew Harrison of Texas, Andrew Wiggins of Canada, Troy Williams and Anthony Barber of Virginia, and New York stars including Chris McCullough, Isaiah Whitehead, and Kuran Iverson.

Outside of the game itself, guard Dayshon Smith, a New York native, reportedly won the Three-Point Contest. High-major interest for his services have picked up lately, including an offer from Illinois. Pittsburgh has recently shown interest in him, as well.
