The USA U-17 team rolled through group play at the FIBA U-17 World Championships in Kaunas, Lithuania and that didn’t change in their quarterfinal match-up with Canada.

2014 point guard Tyus Jones (Apple Valley, MN) led the way with 22 points and six assists as the Americans rolled to a 113-59 victory.

Four other Americans finished in double figures, including 2013 forward Justise Winslow who posted a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

2013 guard Joel Barry added 15, and Chicago products Jahlil Okafor (2014) and Jabari Parker (2013) scored ten points apiece.

According to Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.com, Parker looked a bit banged up and one has to wonder if the foot injury that came up late in the team’s training camp has flared up.

Jeff Goodman of CBSSports.com tweeted that Parker likely won’t play during the first open evaluation period next weekend, per his father Sonny.

As a team the Americans shot 55.8% from the field while limiting Canada to 33.8% shooting, out-rebounding the Canadians by a margin of 59-36 as well.

Shooting guard Justin Jackson led Canada with 17 points and Tyrell Bellot-Green added 12, but outside of those two it was a long day at the office for Canada.

Next up for the USA is a semifinal match-up with Spain, who beat China 64-57, on Saturday.
