In a release sent out by the University of Washington, sophomore forward Terrence Ross has decided to forgo his final two seasons of eligibility and enter the 2012 NBA Draft.

Ross led the Huskies in scoring with an average of 16.4 points per game, and he was second on the team in rebounds, steals, blocks and 3-point percentage, helping lead Washington to a 24-11 record and a Pac-12 regular season title.

During Washington’s four games in the Postseason NIT Ross averaged 25.0 points per game, and his play during the regular season earned the Portland native First Team All-Pac-12 honors.

“I discussed the pros and the cons with my family and I just think this is a great step for me and it’s time for me to take my game to the next level,” said Ross in the release.

Draft Express has Ross slotted in to the latter portion of the lottery, and with his skill set it’s unlikely that Ross drops much further than that come late June.

There’s still no word on any kind of decision by freshman guard Tony Wroten Jr., but while losing Ross does hurt Washington should still be a contender in the Pac-12.

In addition to Ross the Huskies lose forward Darnell Gant, but with Abdul Gaddy and C.J. Wilcox due to return they should be fine on the perimeter.

Aziz N’Diaye returns inside as do Martin Bruenig and wing Scott Suggs, who was a medical redshirt this season.
