President Barack Obama is eager to show British Prime Minister David Cameron some March Madness. Yes, a First Four game counts.

The pair will attend Tuesday’s Mississippi Valley State-Western Kentucky game in Dayton, Ohio. It’s not the game I’d showcase if possible, but hey, any Madness is better than no Madness. And Obama loves to take in a hoops game when he can.

“People - for all our differences politically, regionally, economically - most folks understand sports. Probably because it’s one of the few places where it’s a true meritocracy,” Obama said. “Ultimately, who’s winning, who’s losing, who’s performing, who’s not - it’s all laid out there.”

Obama also is scheduled to give a halftime interview with sportscaster Clark Kellogg, who interviewed the president during halftime of a Duke-Georgetown game in 2010.

Tip-off is 3:40 p.m. on truTV.
