This D-III player can really clean the glass (and floor, and lockers ...)

One might think that college basketball players don’t have time to do much other than play games, practice and go to class. OK, studying and some kind of social life also are part of the equation.

But sometimes athletes need a job to afford college. And sometimes those jobs can be a little random.

Derek Raridon, a D-III basketball player at North Central College in the Chicago suburb of Naperville, happens to be a school custodian, as well as the team’s second-leading scorer.

Rairdon, 21, has been on the job for five years, starting not long after his dad, Todd, left Nebraska Wesleyan for North Central before the 2004-05 season. His older brother, Mitch, did the same thing when he played and worked for his dad.

Sounds like quite the gig, right? Well, CSN Chicago can tell you even more thanks to this video feature.
