Today’s question: Is the Big East tournament too big?

The Big East does its best to live up to its name.

The 16-team conference is closing in on 11 bids to the NCAA tournament, while the conference tournament – complete with all 16 teams – gets underway today and finishes Saturday. (Your primer is here.)

That means teams such as UConn or Villanova could play five games in five days if they reach the title game. St. John’s or West Virginia could play four. You win that many tournament games in March and it usually means a trip to the Final Four, not your conference championship.

So I ask you, how big is too big?
